Tires are a gold mine! You can make swings, shelves, tables … and a seat as cool as this. Recycle a wheel and create a DIY bean bag with string and some pretty paint. Look at the guide and tell us what you think in the comments 😉
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- Masking tape
- White marker
- Spray primer
- Spray paint
1. Make the holes
To start your seat with a tire, mark equidistant dots along the entire surface of the tire with a white marker. From these marks, make holes in the rubber with the help of a drill and a thick bit.
2. Paint the tire
Holes made? Then take a brush. Clean the entire surface of the tire well, removing any dust or rubber that may have come off after making the holes. You need to do this carefully so that when spray painting, the result is good. Once the tire is clean, apply a coat of spray primer, let it dry and paint with the color of your choice.
3. Braid the rope
When the tire surface is dry, begin creating the rope seat. Thread one of the ends of the rope with a bit of tape – the bodybuilder’s tape will do – and pass it through one of the holes. Secure with a knot underneath and pass the rope through the opposite end: so on until one side is completed, covering the hole in the tire. Once you are done, change the direction of the rope, which will be perpendicular to the other, and cover the rest of the tire. Pass the rope under and over, alternately, the ropes that you have already laid, creating the rope net that will serve as a seat. Finish with a knot.
Ready! Do you like how it turned out? Would you put it at home? It seems like a very cool idea to us and… sustainable!
